Our summer production 2026: Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing

Chosen democratically by our company at our winter assembly, our Summer 2026 production will be Shakespeare’s irresistible romantic comedy Much Ado About Nothing, reimagined in the dazzling world of 1960s Hollywood. Set among movie studios, star-studded parties, and sun-bleached glamour, this production trades Messina for the Italian Riviera, where romance plays out under the bright lights and even brighter egos.

About the play

Two very different love stories collide: one a battle of wits between sworn cynics Beatrice and Benedick, whose verbal sparring hides something more; the other a whirlwind romance between young lovers Hero and Claudio, tested by jealousy and deception. As gossip spreads and hearts are put at risk, true love must fight to shine through — proving that romance, whether reluctant or rapturous, is always worth the drama.
