King John has it rough. Following in the footsteps of his beloved brother, he is immediately confronted with a pile of problems:

John‘s nephew is undermining his position, backed by the combative French, and his relationship with the powerful Pope is more than tense. Although John can count on the support of his mother and some loyal followers, the political structure begins to topple when another dubious figure enters the playing field.
